Being elected as the youngest president in the history of Japura Alumni Australia is not just an honor—it’s a responsibility I carry with deep respect for everyone who built this community long before me. I promise to lead with the same passion, humility, and unwavering Japura spirit that binds us all.

This year, my vision is simple: Reconnect. Celebrate. Elevate. Let’s bring every generation of Japura graduates and employees—past, present, and future—closer than ever before.

We’re raising the bar this year with a lineup that celebrates culture, talent, community, and giving back:

• Annual Bus Trip [Saturday, January 31st] – Laughter, bonding, and beautiful memories.

• Sanda Ek Dinak Musical Show [Saturday, February 21st]

• Founders’ Day Alms Giving [Saturday 25th July at Paramitha Buddhist Vihara, Rockbank] – Honoring our roots with gratitude.

• Japura Connect – Networking Event – Strengthening our professional family.

• Blood Donation Drive – Giving life to our community beyond borders.

• Japura Night – Dinner Dance [Saturday, October 24th at Springvale City Hall] – Closing the year with glamour, rhythm, and pure joy.

Standing with Sri Lanka During Difficult Times While we plan an exciting year ahead, our hearts are also with our motherland. The recent devastating weather conditions in Sri Lanka have deeply affected many families — including undergraduates at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Our committee has already begun discussions with the Vice Chancellor Senior Prof. Pathmalal Manage to understand how we, as an Alumni body in Australia, can support the affected students.

As soon as we receive information, we will communicate the next steps and ways you can join us in providing meaningful assistance.
