Blood Donation
On June 15, 2024, members, their families, and friends came together at the Mt Waverley Donor Centre to participate in a blood donation drive. This collective effort was aimed at saving lives and supporting vital healthcare needs within the community1. Blood donation is a critical act of generosity-one donation can save up to three lives, and Australia requires over 1.7 million donations annually to meet ongoing demand.
The event coincided with National Blood Donor Week, celebrated every June around World Blood Donor Day (June 14), which recognizes the life-saving contributions of donors and raises awareness about the ongoing need for safe, voluntary blood donations. Such initiatives not only help ensure a steady supply of blood and blood products for patients in need but also foster a spirit of selflessness and community involvement.
By participating in this blood donation event, individuals demonstrated a commitment to supporting healthcare and making a tangible difference in the lives of others
