2024 Aluth Aurudu Celebration

On April 20, 2024, a momentous occasion came to life as our JAPURA community gathered at the Springvale Reserve Hall for the highly anticipated Japura Bakmaha Ulela 2024. The event was a vibrant celebration of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, steeped in tradition and cultural pride. The day unfolded with a colorful array of activities, including traditional games, spirited competitions, and mesmerizing cultural performances that brought laughter and joy to all generations. Children and adults alike eagerly participated in age-old games like kana mutti bindeema and kotta pora, while dancers in traditional attire added rhythm and color to the festivities. Aromas of festive food, cheerful conversations, and the sound of drums and songs created an atmosphere of pure celebration. It was a heartwarming day that strengthened bonds within our community and kept our cultural heritage alive for future generations.
